Keeping the Veranda Clean: Some Techniques to Enjoy the Spot
Published on Tuesday, 15 December 2009

There are many things you are allowed to do in your veranda.  You may sit there every morning and have a sip of your coffee or tea whilst you read the day's newspapers.  You may spend a cosy evening with your loved ones through this venue.  You may invite your friends in and enjoy the spot whilst you talk about some things you have missed out on.  With all these purposes that your veranda serves, it also pays to keep the spot clean.    Cleaning your veranda actually depends upon the materials used to build it up.  You may have floorboards or tiles as an overlay to an underlying surface.  It is therefore important to focus much of your attention on these materials before you decide on how to keep the spot clean.    Starting the Cleaning Endeavour for Your Veranda Dusting-off your veranda's ceilings (if you have one) or your walls is also essential.  If you have set your mind on a general cleaning of the said spot, you may start by focusing on your ceilings and walls first.  Any dust particles may go to your floors thus starting with the floor area in this instance is of no good.   As soon as you have cleaned your ceilings and walls, you may now proceed to the "star of the show".  Sweep your floors with the aid of a broom or a sweeper.  Make sure that all dust particles have been removed from the area. Collect the dirt with a dust pan.   Pay Much Attention to Your Flooring Material Type   Most often than not, water is very good to wipe your veranda's floors especially if it is made up of tiles.  You may place a teaspoon of powdered or liquid detergent if you wish.  Be sure that you wipe the area with water if you make use of such cleaning agents.  This is to avoid soap residue from building up on the floor.  The finishing touch goes to wiping off excess water with dry cloth.  If in case, your veranda's floors are made out of wood, it is best to polish the area after the sweeping procedure.  Put some clear floor wax and let it dry before you scrub the floor.  You may use an electronic scrubber if you have one.
