Wooden flooring can look gorgeous in any home. It lends charm and elegance to any interior. However, cleaning it is essential if you wish to maintain the luster and beauty. Polishing the floor Polishing wooden flooring is an essential aspect of its cleaning and care. For this, there are many commercial polishers available but you can make one, which is homemade. It is made by mixing vinegar and oil in equal proportions. Then, use a soft dry cloth and dip it into the solution. Then, use a gently rubbing motion to rub the cloth on the flooring surface. Make sure to do this once every few weeks to ensure that your wooden flooring remains shiny and lustrous. Sweeping It is also essential that you sweep off clutter and excess dirt from the wooden floor. Doing so will ensure that your wooden flooring looks beautiful and clean. If you have kids at home then there will obviously be plenty of paper bits and other clutter lying around. Make it a habit to sweep off these from the wooden flooring. Dents on floors Wooden floors have a tendency to get dents on them, especially if sharp objects like high heels or even table legs are kept on the floor for long. Using rugs and large carpets is a good idea if you want to protect your wooden flooring from scratches. If you have had your wooden flooring for a decade or so, it maybe time for refinishing it. Little things go a long way in ensuring that your wooden floors last a long time. Sometimes it could be about ensuring that your pet's nails are trimmed whilst at other times, it could be about making sure that you use pads under table legs or cushions to insulate the flooring from scratches.
