Tips on Cleaning the Wicker

There are various home decorations made of wicker such as baskets, blinds, placemats and vases. Wicker items accent a native look to the house. There also decorative furniture that are made of wicker. Because of the variety of items that can be made of wicker, you should know how to deal with the dirt on the furniture made of this. Here are some home tips to follow:   Wickers are durable items since they do not get broken or easily torn apart. So if you know how to deal with them, they can stand through time. But before cleaning the wicker, examine it first for loose threads and reweave them. Also check for other possible damages that need repair. This will prevent the wicker from further breakage. If it necessitates you to use glue, wait until the glue has totally dried up before cleaning the wicker.   Regular dusting of the wicker will remove surface dirt and prevent the dirt from piling up. You can use a soft brush to remove the dirt accumulated in the corners. Then finish cleaning the wicker with a damp cloth.   Before storing the wicker, make sure that it has dried up thoroughly. This will ensure that the material will not magnet dust when returned to its location.
