General cleaning after winter is always referred to as spring cleaning. Many ask why it is called so. It's actually just a figure of speech. Well, if you want to take it literally though you do the cleaning during spring time.   It's just that spring is the start of the warmer months. That is why many of the things you have used during winter need to be kept while things you will need in the warmer months are brought out again. For instance, winter clothes are stored away as the warmer weather starts to set in. Grills are set out once again as the weather permits more outdoor activities. With the sun starting to come out, you can also tend to your garden once more and prepare it for the summer when flowers are in full bloom and the grass and plants are as green as they can be.   The end of winter is just a relief for many people. It's really a time for a different lifestyle. Spring just lets you open your houses once more. You breathe more fresh air and it's basically a start of something new and different from winter. So aside from necessity, spring cleaning really prepares you for a more colorful season.
