Spring Cleaning 101

Spring cleaning is a great way to reorganize your home and clean all the dirt and detritus that has collected during the past year. This is especially important in places that experience all the four seasons – spring, summer, autumn and winter – as the last season, winter, can leave a lot of gunk and humidness in your home, so spring cleaning is, just like the first season of the whole cycle, an opportunity to start new and air out all the trapped air in your home. And really, it’s really no good to experience spring when you home is all stuffy and dirty.

Creating a system for your spring cleaning tasks is very important, so that you can proceed with your spring cleaning in an efficient and systematic way. The first thing you should do is to plan out and create an appropriate schedule so that you can plan out not only your spring cleaning tasks but your other duties and obligations as well that are outside your spring cleaning. You should also remember that it is much more difficult to clean stains and grime that have set, so you should not dilly dally in creating that schedule.

The next thing you should do is to go around your home and take a close look and see which tasks should be on top of the to do list. This will ensure that the most urgent and important cleaning task – as well as repairs – are completed and scheduled first. What’s more, doing things this way will help you divide out the tasks you need to do, and not limit you to doing everything in just one or two days. That way, you don’t get tired too much and too often, and a balance between your spring cleaning and all your other tasks is achieved.

Also, remember to be responsible about the trash you are going to throw out. Make sure that everything that can be recycled is actually recycled. One big tip that might even earn you some money is by selling things that you aren’t using anymore – things that still work, naturally – in a small garage sale. You get to get rid of them and get some precious extra space in your home, and you actually earned some money off of it.

Spring cleaning can really be less of a burden and a hassle than it really is if you plan well and follow a schedule and timeline. Before you know it, everything will be done and you’ll have a cleaner, more spacious and neater place to live in.
